The Role
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic ad passionate veterinary surgeon to join our close-knit team. We have a diverse day on offer for the successful candidate with day to day duties involving consulting, (15-minute consultations) and operating, with an expectation to work 1:6 Saturdays with no OOH’s. We have a monthly Veterinary Surgeon meeting as a team so we can discuss cases, learn about new medication by having representative speakers coming to speak to us and discuss various matters involved within our veterinary practice.
Salary for the role is between £45,000 -£60,000 FTE depending on experience. Full time and part time roles will be considered.
We require a veterinary surgeon who can join our team and help us to continue being able to offer a high standard of care to our loyal clients and patients.
About Us
Hillman vets are a 6-branch practice based in the West Midlands. We have branches based in Walsall, Darlaston, Brownhills, Lichfield and Cannock. We are a strong team consisting of 9 full time equivalent Veterinary surgeons with varying interests and 11 FTE Veterinary nurses. We also have a strong support team of VCA’s and dedicated receptionists. We have digital x-ray machines, Ultrasound machines which we use for both abdominal ultrasounds as well as echocardiograms. We also own a laser therapy machine which is ran by our VN team and we also offer laparoscopic ovariectomy’s. We support certificates and further personal development. We currently have 3 of our Veterinary surgeons studying for certificates in Surgery, Diagnostic imaging and Ophthalmology. We also have special interests in Cardiology, Medicine, Dermatology and Exotics amongst our team.
We are opposite the Arboretum park in Walsall and have close links to Birmingham City centre. Here you will find a wide range of shops, bars, restaurants and theatres to enjoy.
Applicant Requirements
The successful candidate will have access to a digital x-ray machine, laparoscopic equipment and ultrasound. Training will be provided on any of the equipment if deemed necessary. The candidate would not be expected to work out of hours and the Saturday rota is 1:6 Saturdays 9am-3pm. Ideally the successful candidate will have experience in consulting and routine surgery.
